As we all know, ambient temperature is a key factor affecting whether the LCD screen can operate normally. Therefore, when designing the LCD screen at the beginning, engineers will decide what temperature range of liquid crystal materials to use based on factors such as the customer's usage environment. Usually, the operating temperature of the LCD screen is divided into: normal temperature 0~50 degrees, wide temperature -20~70 degrees, ultra-wide temperature -30~80 degrees, and we have even used extremely special materials of -40 degrees to design LCD screen modules for customers. In this way, a question will arise: Can the LCD screen still work normally at extreme temperatures?
In fact, this question is a bit ambiguous. We all know that, for example, the wide temperature working range is -20~70 degrees. First of all, in an environment below minus 20 degrees and above 70 degrees, the LCD screen theoretically cannot work. If the temperature has not reached 70 degrees and minus 20 degrees, but is very close, it can be said to be the extreme temperature. Can the LCD screen still work normally?
This question is also a question that many customers will ask. Many customers use wide-temperature LCD screens. When the temperature is very low, the words become very light, and when the temperature is very high, the words become very dark. What's going on?
In fact, it is very easy to explain from the principle of the LCD screen. The reason why the LCD screen can display various patterns or pen segments is that the liquid crystal in the LCD box is working. As the name suggests, the liquid crystal is liquid and must be affected by the environment. When the temperature is high, the liquid crystal will heat up and flow faster. The feedback on the display is that the color becomes very dark. When the temperature is low, the liquid crystal will begin to crystallize, flow slower, and the color on the display will become very light. It is not that it cannot display normally, but that the normal display time will be much slower than at normal temperature.
This should be understood by everyone. From the perspective of the LCD screen, the working temperature only means that it can work within this temperature range, and it will not fail to display or refresh due to environmental factors.
Generally speaking, taking a wide temperature LCD screen as an example, the display rate will begin to change from -5 degrees Celsius and +50 degrees Celsius. When it reaches -20 degrees Celsius and +70 degrees Celsius, it reaches the limit temperature. The feedback on the screen is no display or a dark state, which makes it unusable. Therefore, Chenghao Optoelectronic Display usually advises customers that if the actual use temperature is close to the limit temperature, they must choose a LCD screen with a wider temperature range.
The above is the interpretation of the limit temperature of LCD screen by Chenghao Optoelectronic Lcd Manufacturer. If you are interested in LCD, please contact us through the contact information on the website. Thank you!
