· Define your operational environment first — temperature range, ambient light, and vibration profile narrow options immediately.
· Assess content patterns — if your display will show static content for extended periods, burn-in risk argues for TFT LCD.
· Evaluate volume and budget — for anything above 500 units annually, TFT LCD cost structure is almost always more favorable.
