Core reminder: On June 7th, Beijing time, Flextronics, the world's third-largest electronic product contract manufacturer, warned that the global chip shortage will continue for at least another year. The shortage of chips has disrupted the automotive industry and threatened the supply of consumer technology products.
Lynn Torrel, chief procurement and supply chain officer of Flextronics, said that its semiconductor suppliers have pushed back their expectations on when the chip shortage will end.
"In view of such strong demand, the current expectation is that the chip shortage will end from mid to end of 2022, depending on the chip type. Some people also predict that the shortage will continue until 2023." He said. (Author/Xiao Yu)
